An Italian-Inspired Birthday Soirée to Remember
We recently had the pleasure of catering a truly special celebration: an Italian-inspired birthday party held in honour of our client’s father, Andrew. Set against a backdrop of laughter, live music, and the irresistible aroma of the grill, the evening was a beautiful coming together of family, friends, and fantastic food — the kind of celebration that lingers long after the final glass of wine has been poured.
From the very beginning, the brief was clear: create a relaxed yet memorable dining experience that felt generous, flavour-packed, and full of soul. Drawing inspiration from Mediterranean and Italian-style feasting, we designed a menu that encouraged guests to gather, share, and savour every bite — perfectly complemented by soulful live singers who set the tone for an unforgettable night.
A Feast Built for Sharing
At the heart of the celebration was a lavish BBQ buffet, designed to feel abundant, vibrant, and effortlessly indulgent. The grill took centre stage, filling the air with mouth-watering aromas as guests helped themselves to a spread bursting with colour and flavour.
The star of the show was our lamb and chicken souvla, slow-cooked to perfection and finished over the flames for a smoky, tender bite. Alongside this, garlic king prawns delivered bold, juicy flavour with just the right amount of richness, while grilled loukaniko sausage added a savoury, herby depth that guests kept returning for.
Balancing the smoky meats were an array of fresh, vibrant sides that brought brightness and texture to every plate. A butternut squash salad offered natural sweetness and warmth, while roasted new potatoes with oregano provided classic Mediterranean comfort. Our tomato, basil and mozzarella salad was a refreshing nod to Italian simplicity — ripe tomatoes, creamy mozzarella, and fragrant basil coming together beautifully.
Guests also enjoyed a selection of Mediterranean vegetable couscous and a delicate orzo salad, both packed with fresh herbs and seasonal vegetables, adding lightness and balance to the feast. A generous spread of artisan breads and dips completed the buffet, perfect for grazing, sharing, and soaking up every last bit of flavour.
The beauty of this style of catering is how naturally it brings people together. Plates were piled high, conversations flowed freely, and the atmosphere felt relaxed, joyful, and celebratory — exactly as a milestone birthday should be.

A Sweet Ending: The Dessert Bar
No celebration is complete without dessert, and this event finished on a truly indulgent high with a beautifully curated dessert bar. Guests were treated to a selection of our much-loved dessert minis, allowing everyone to sample a little of everything.
Highlights included classic tiramisu, rich and perfectly balanced, alongside silky lemon possets that brought a burst of freshness to the table. Lemon meringue tart added a sweet-sharp contrast, while baklava offered layers of honeyed crunch and indulgence. For chocolate lovers, our chocolate mousse delivered deep, velvety richness — the perfect final bite to round off the evening.
